Good morning folks.  Another cold one here.  Record low, as a matter of fact.

Today is my annual mammogram.  Yippee!!  I just LOVE that!  NOT!!

My DH is feeling pretty good after his gall bladder removal (and aborted lap band surgery).  His new lap band surgery date is March 5th.  He has to keep his weight down from his previous pre-op liquid diet.  When he sees the doc on Feb 16th he will decide what he has to do for THIS pre-op diet.

Have a fantabulous day!

Aloha Jan....You blow my mind!! You are such an inspiration to everyone. Just the story you have of being heavy, having surgery, and NOW riding a bike across country is worthy of Larry King! And ..... you aren't a kid, either!!

You make me feel guilty about how I'm not using my new body to it's maximum efficiency......just feeling grateful that it's now slim and trim and healthy. But...you give me HOPE and belief that I can do most anything...even at 65! My next "to do" is to get to the gym (now Medicare is paying for gym membership!) and working out....lifting weights especially to put muscle where the saggy baggy skin is now.

Thanks for the uplifting post this morning...and you GO girl!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Wild weekend planned here.  Hubby has a  nasty cold here so  I'm keeping the foster kids away from him so they dint catch it.  I am heading up to seem my folks.  At 95 and 93 they they dint need to share St eves cold,  Moms in a care home and shed share it with all her co-patients and I'M sure none of them need that !

Hes kinda feeling sorry for himself that hes gonna be left alone tomarrow so Sunday  so I think  Ill  make his favorite meals and the kids and I will spend a wild day with him in front of the fire place.     After I see My folks  I am not so fussy about the cold germs.    We will catch them eventually!   Have a great Friday and a super weekend everyone.

Good morning Nancy and my OFF Family,

I have been reading about all the reading going on and have to chime in to say that I am also a reader.  My husband will tell you that I will read anything I can get my hands on.  He is not a reader and doesn't understand at all!!  But I have to admit that he is right.  My son reads sci-fi, my daughter reads anything like me.  My mom, brother, and a 3 of my 4 sisters are also readers so we pass the books around.  My brother will even read the romances if there is nothing else available.  I am just starting on the third book of the Eragon series
Brisinger By Christopher Paolini.

My DH is teaching a Jewelry Making Class starting tomorrow at Southeastern Community College so we are getting ready for that.  Other than that it is pretty quiet around here.

Ya'll have a great day.

Hugs,

I was a little dissappointed in Brisingr.  It was very well written and moved along quickly.  But I was expecting it to be the last one in the series and it's not.  NOW I have to wait for another one.  And he takes a long time between books!  I really enjoy JD Robb books, romance novels if I don't want to think, and just about anything else.

Good Morning OFF friends....I guess it is still morning although it's almost 10:00.  I don't get on here very early in the morning and am mostly an evening "lurker".  We have enjoyed a few days of above 35* weather and have a few more nice ones to enjoy before another predicted snowstorm.  YIKES!!
The added weight (20 pounds) that I came home from the hospital with a week ago is now gone and I'm back down to where I was b/4 being hoospitalized plus 2 more pounds!!  I was ub the hosp. 5 1/2 days with kidney stones and was on IV fluids the entire time.  Lithotripsy scheduled for next Wednesday to try "smash" stone but I have 3 more large ones in the kidney itself.  I feel okay and so glad the extra water weight came off like so many of you said it would.  I don't have much planned for the weekend except do some WLS food shopping and maybe take in a movie with DH.

I hope everyone is doing okay and do have a wonderful weekend!!

Good morning dear friends,

We're doing the Friday Frenzy as usual.  In and out all day. Have already been to Jen's, got Cheyanne to school at 7:45, to the bank and grocery store on the way home, back to Jen's to pick up what I forgot earlier. Then home.  Have my 2nd load of laundry going.  Have about 1 hour before taking Sami to school, then to the other bank and drug store to pick up prescriptions. Then will have about 2 hours at home before having to pick the girls up at school.

I started something new this week for the early mornings. I make a protein shake with skim milk and add 1/2  cup at a time to my coffee.  Kind of makes my coffee taste like hot chocolate. Seems to be helping keep the carb monster away too, and to make sure I get enough protein in each day.

Yesterday we had to take our "Skeeter" to the vet, he hadn't been eating or drinking much since early the day before. The vet said he was dehydrated.  The kept him about 3 hours gave him fluids, took some blood to send to the lab to see what is going on with him.  He has been not himself for the past week. Hope I hear from them today with the results. He does seem better this morning though has eaten about half his food and took some drinks a couple times. They did put him on an antibiotic too, maybe some bug or something.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Hugs, Paulette

Paulette,
I hope Skeeter gets better soon. It sure is hard to get an animal to drink.
Grammylew how close are you to Asheville North CArolina and Vera? I will be in Asheville for Passover a Jewish holiday April 8th to around thd the 14th or 15th.  I decided to drive cause the airfare form Tampa to Charlotte is high right now. But things could change.
It is cold here about 50 and I am wrapped up in my sweater and a long sleeved shirt.
heading to the doctor in a little while.
Nothing else going on.
